Dr. Sonny Spera owns and maintains 5 Fee For Service practices, Progressive Dental, in the Southern Tier of NY, and Northeastern PA. He started as an associate in 1989, then purchased his first practice in 1991 with 4 ops and 6 staff, and it's grown to 5 offices with 6 doctors and over 60 staff. They have a fully integrated on-site dental lab with 2 CDT's. He enjoys practicing digital dentistry with a passion for clinical diagnosis, restorative dentistry, practice management, team building and growth. His background is heavily rooted in team sports. A 1985 graduate of Syracuse University, Dr Spera was a full, four-year scholarship basketball player, including team co-captain in 85, along with 3 NCAA tournament appearances and one sweet sixteen finish. Dr Spera is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo dental school, OKU member and was also a full-time graduate assistant basketball coach while at UB. He is a member of the American Dental Association, NYS Dental Association, Sixth District Dental Society and the Broome County Dental Society. He is also a member of Academy of General Dentistry, International Association of Orthodontics, the American Academy of Dental Implant Association, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. His son Marcus, has recently joined the family at Progressive Dental.
